*grump grump grump* There is cake at work, with real cream goodness filling, but I can't face eating any because my tooth hurts :( Am frustrated about lots of things, but I can't grumble about them because people grump at me back to say the equivalent of 'tough luck, we don't care', or 'my situation's worse, p*** off'. On the bus this morning I realised that I have pretty much regressed to the level of social ineptitude that I displayed whilst at school, the university and just after university days of carefree bouncyness have pretty much gone. It's just a lack of practice at being sociable I think, I can't really figure out what to talk to people about any more, or form coherent sentences when I do! My phone-phobia is getting much worse, and people at work keep jokingly threatening to force me to phone people up, with the result that I just feel sick and worried in the corner, jumping out of my skin whenever the phone rings! Work is quite discombobulated, we have been told we are moving building after all, so I have 8 weeks to sort that out (I say 'I', as nobody else is going to be able to sort out the hardest bit, that is moving all the computers etc. and making sure they all have power/network points in the new scarily open plan room)! :O Our magazine is nearing its deadline date and I have two new software systems (one teaching, one administrative) to have set up and working before the term starts - again, approximately 8 weeks. :/ Current Mood:  weirdCurrent Music: Therion - Adulruna Rediviva |

Lucky rolls...
well, last night i had the most obscene roll in a wod game that i have ever had.
on an attack roll, as a mortal in a requiem for Rome game (riffing on the first part of the Giovanni chronicles somewhat) i managed to get 12 successes with an iron bar, in new wod, that's 12 lethal damage enough to put a crimp on most peoples days...
i was quite pleased with myself.
so it leads me to the question...
What is the luckiest or most memorable roll you have ever rolled.
was it pretty much a cert or was it a long shot, what system were you playing?

Murphy strikes again... hmmm... The pain, oh gods the pain. 3am this morning my arm decided to pop right out of its socket. Then twist round so that my arm was sticking out at a 45 degree angle. So I was wide awake in ball aching pain but this wasn't the best bit. The best bit was the fact I was lying on my front in bed and couldn't roll over or pop my arm back in. So I spent an hour and a half inching my way out of my bed sideways because I couldn't lift myself out (could not put weight on my arm) and then standing in the mirror playing an entertaining game of twist and play with your arm and the wall until you find the right way to pop your arm back in... yowch! Thanks for turning me off forum games! Your writing, while it was initially pretty interesting, has got to be some of the most boring work I've ever read. There’s at least... six... ellipses... in each... of... your... posts, every single one of your characters talks the same, acts the same and absolutely needs to hook up with the nearest male hottie. And for someone who's so vocal about portraying realistic, believable homosexual relationships, why is it that all of your male characters are simpering ukes who desperately need their daddy figures to take care of them?
Also, you're not as funny as you think you are. Talking in memes all the time isn't really an indicator of wit.

Pimp My Vampire Will Return
Swamped with work this week. Fear not, I have a half finished file of the Circle of the Crone to post here, and then we'll get a post for the Invictus, the Lancea Sanctum and Ordo Dracul will share a post, then the Unaligned vampires. Then probably a post or two of general pimpage and development.
Hopefully I'll have time to post the Circle tomorrow night. Just wanted to let everyone know I haven't dropped the series. |

Person in my scifi game #1,
Stop trying to turn this game into a sex romp. I already told you there would be no graphic sex scenes. And stop trying to plan sexy times with the female characters. One plays an alien whose anatomy doesn't allow for sex with your character's species, another doesn't really want to, and my character is too busy keeping her crew from accidentally blowing up the ship.
It's not gonna happen.

The more you whine about wanting your character to murder something, the less I'm willing to put in a random NPC.
Likewise, no matter how much you whine, we're not going to let you kill the PC stowaway. |

Brief mini-rant... Today is one of those days where I wonder how it is not obvious that God knows the difference between people doing things in real life, and people doing things for escapist pretendy fun. Surely, being omniscient, He should be credited with more intelligence? :O Or, to put it differently, if children can figure out events in a film/television programme etc. are not real, then surely God (being ALL-KNOWING) can tell that when someone puts a costume on and acts out things, that is not real either, and therefore not worth being smity about? Okay. I'll keep it short. The fact that I don't duel does not mean you can insult me. I don't like dueling. I play WoW for the quests and for Thrall. I don't even get why people duel, but hey, if you like it, go ahead. Just keep away from me and a.) don't bug me after I declined and b.) don't insult me after I declined. There are loads of people who will duel with you. Now shoo. |

Maybe if you stopped worrying about what your characters should be doing, you'd actually get something done! I'm so tired of you IMing me "thread with D plox! thread with X plox! thread with A plox!"
No, actually, I'm not tired of that. RP is good.
I am tired of you begging for a thread, us starting one, and then you suddenly forgetting the thread exists, only to beg me a couple of weeks down the line for another rp because boohoo our last one died. Which, btw, totally your fault!
Pretty soon you're gonna be wondering why nobody wants to rp with you. If you aren't wondering that already. Well, I can tell you why. Because you rarely finish your threads. Or, no! That would even be okay, since none of us are perfect and sometimes shit happens. Except, wait, it takes you weeks to reply. We have to nag and nag and nag you, and you make unfulfilled promises you had no intention of keeping. Your last thread? They'd been waiting nearly two MONTHS for a reply from you, but you've only just posted, with no apologies whatsoever, as if it's okay for you to revive it even though they've long since moved on without you! And then you whinge/bitch/moan/complain/nag/whine if anyone dares take more than two days to reply to you!
And as if that weren't bad enough? You mix up OOC/IC. You threaten to suicide your characters if things don't go your way. You've admitted openly that your main character is a self-insert; not to mention he's also a massive gary-stu. You've ripped countless ideas from me and your other friend, and yet you've always done so in such a way that the mods/admins can't do anything about it without looking like tyrant mods. Your posts have taken on a c. 19th century omniscient narrative style that doesn't suit your characters (or you) at all. What you think is interesting, funny, or generally good RP? ... just isn't.
You have so much potential, truly. And you're my friend, so this is even harder. But I'm so close to just refusing to rp with you ever again. Get a frickin' clue, please, before you really do have no one to rp with and you lose all your friends to boot.

Wednesday (I think?!) Wisdom tooth badness strikes again!! :O I think there is a definite design flaw there. It started hurting a bit at the weekend but I think it is getting worse... :( Yesterday when I got home I mowed the lawn, harvested some beans, cleaned the bird bath, sorted out the compost, watered the garden and swept the patio. Then yet again my mum came in to find me asleep, so I looked very lazy until I showed her the garden :D Had dinner and then had my weekly dose of television in the form of Holby City and Bonekickers, I am pleased that the only 2 programmes I currently watch are on the same day, same channel, right after one another. This makes things very easy as someone who doesn't watch television purely because I am too disorganised to know what programme is on when... Tonight I might see if I can do the shelves of scaryness! Or I might fall asleep again :) I have run out of coffee at work *sad face* Current Mood:  sleepyCurrent Music: I am not sure what this is... |

Community Lockdown Just a reminder to everyone that as of Midnight PST tonight (about 20 minutes ago), this community is officially in lockdown. Mods will not be checking the posting queue until at least July 26th after ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) frey_at_last and I have seen the movie, and at that point we will come out with our post-movie game plan. Mods will continue to check the members queue (we are 11 people away from 3000!) and we will be posting as many interviews, articles and pieces of news we can find. Happy movie weekend everyone!
